How many days are enough for Tanzania? ›

Two weeks would be a preferred time to combine two or even three regions if you want to maximize your species sightings and experience distinct ecological habitats. If you have more time at your disposal, then you can really do Tanzania justice, taking in almost all the key wildlife viewing experiences.

Is Tanzania a safe country for self-drive? We occasionally get this question, and the answer is yes. Tanzania is known to be one of the safest and most stable countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. Armed attacks and violence towards travelers is unheard of.

Ten days is enough time to enjoy the best of Tanzania and then some. You can go on safaris in multiple national parks (including the Serengeti), kick back on the white-sand beaches of Zanzibar, and even hike up Mount Kilimanjaro.

Tanzania is one of Africa's most popular safari destinations with its abundance of natural parks and unspoiled wilderness. The best season to visit Tanzania is during the long dry season, which falls from July to September. These are considered the best months for safaris, the Great Migration, trekking, and beach holidays in Zanzibar. Of course, these months are peak travel season.

There are many parks and reserves, and each one is different, so you won't be able to visit all the highlights in one trip. Is Tanzania cheap or expensive? ›

The park entrance fees are quite steep, so going on safari is expensive, especially in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater. Tipping your guide/driver

It is customary to leave a tip for your guide/driver at the end of your trip. What you choose to give is entirely up to you, but our advice is to tip your guide around $8-10 per person, per day.
